Each year NKSC gives deserving college bound seniors scholarships to four individuals who have been former NKSC players, outstanding students and bright examples of our local citizenry. These funds are given in memoriam of several Coaches that were near and dear to NKSC.

NKSC strives to foster, promote and develop the great sport of soccer in our community. NKSC offers several financial assistance programs to support our area youth the opportunity to participate in the soccer programs offered by the Club. These funds are provided through direct donations or proceeds from NKSC fundraising activities. NKSC awards over $10,000 annually for financial assistance through grants and scholarships.

Needs Based Assistance Grants

Understanding that some of our area youth may not be able to participate due to financial limitations or economic hardship, NKSC has established an assistance program that covers all or part of registration fees of qualifying applicants for a single season.

The guidelines necessary to determine financial need have been determined by the NKSC Board of Directors and each application will be reviewed for eligibility and approved by the Board to authorize the release of the funding to cover an applicant's registration costs. The amount of aid and number family members/players receiving aid is dependent upon the amount of monies available and is not guaranteed from year to year. It is also on a first come, first serve basis. Players/families receiving financial assistance are expected to support NKSC programming by volunteering their time and talent to Club activities. Volunteer participation will be considered in granting fee assistance.

Each request is considered on a per season basis. Applicants may be required to submit proof of income or other evidence of need. All information is for the sole purpose of helping the NKSC Executive Board make grants. Assistance requests are strictly confidential. College Scholarships

As a community based organization, NKSC seeks to support its area youth first through the sport of soccer, but also through their ongoing education. NKSC awards four college-bound scholarships annually that are available to graduating seniors from area high schools that have been members of the Club. These scholarships have been established to provide college associated financial assistance for our Club members. The guidelines necessary to determine financial need have been determined by the NKSC Board of Directors and each application will be reviewed for eligibility and approved by the Board to authorize the release of the funding

The John Smith Memorial Scholarship is set up in memory of Coach John Smith and is awarded to a graduating senior boy.

The Joyce Sheflo Memorial Scholarship is set up in the memory of Coach Joyce Sheflo and is awarded to a graduating senior boy.

The Les Keihle Memorial Scholarship is set up in the memory of Coach Les Keihle and is awarded to a graduating senior girl.

The Mary Ann Davis Memorial Scholarship is set up in the memory of Coach Mary Ann Davis and is awarded to a graduating senior girl.

For each of the scholarships, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

1. Must have played soccer with the Kitsap Peninsula or Northwest Sound Youth Soccer Association for at least three years.
2. Must have served the North Kitsap Soccer Club in one or more of the following ways:
   - Coached
   - Refereed
   - Worked on the Viking Cup Tournament
   - Helped in another capacity
3. Must be able to show how soccer has made an impact on his/her life.
