Small-Sided Soccer Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I know what color jersey to wear?
A. Aways wear the yellow jersey, unless you are playing another NK team. When playing another NK team, the home team wears the yellow jersey and the away team wears
a pinney to distinguish the teams.

Q. What if both teams show up with the same color jersey anyway?
A. Per WSYSA rules, the home team will change their jersey.

Q. Do I need to fill out a match report for a modified field game?
A. Scores should be reported for all games. Mod level scores are not used for competitive standings but may be utilized for balancing leagues or looking at relative strengths between teams.

Q. How do I know if I am supposed to setup/breakdown the field?
A. On the District 4 site, under the Coach section, select Field Setup (http://www.d4soccer.org/fieldsetup.php)

Q. I been assigned for field setup, what do I do?
A: For mod level unlock the goals from the fence and move into position.

Q. I have been assigned for field breakdown, what do I do?
A. Academy: Pick up your flags and cones. Look around and pick up any litter you see.
Mod: Move the goals back to the fence and re-lock them. Look around and pick up any litter you see.

Q. Is a roster form required for each game?
A. Yes. Roster forms are required for all games. Roster forms can be found on the documents page on the District 4 web site, or click here.

Q. I don't have a referee assigned for my game. What do I do?
A. Use a parent or assistant coach, or have each coach referee for half the game.

Q. How long are the games?
A. The games length varies by age level. See the NSYSA small-sided rules for details.
